Learning Intention
What did you learn today?
We learned how to pack up any medication we are taking to Outdoor School. 
How did you show what you learned?
We need to put the bottle/box of medicine inside a ziplock bag. The medication and the ziplock needs to be labelled with our name and the dosage instructions. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will bring this labelled medicine in its container and in a labelled ziplock bag to school on Monday. Mrs. Saunders and Mr. P will put these medicines in the Dr. Coffin Rubbermaid bin and we will be keeping these in a central spot.

This is happening because new risks have been identified and parents need to be made aware of these.

Learning Intention
What did you learn today?
We learned the difference between deciduous and coniferous trees. Coniferous trees have needles and cones and deciduous have leaves the 'decide' to fall off in the fall.
How did you show what you learned?
We completed a scavenger hunt in our school yard and in Whispering Woods. We tallied the type of tree, the bark patterns and the branching patterns. From these we created fractions, ratios and percents.
What do you need to learn next?
We will be able to identify the trees we see while we are at Outdoor School.

We learned about the levels of the forest and living and non-living things.

We went out to Whispering Woods. We sat at our tree and sketched our tree. We labelled the 4 levels and identified living and non-living things in each area. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will learn more about Trees and Forests as we lead up to outdoor school. Also, we will get to apply our knowledge about this unit while we are at Outdoor School.

We learned that the position of the sun is much higher than the last time we checked it

We go out in our field and measure the position of the sun using our fists. 
What do you need to learn next?
We will monitor it again next month and apply this to our understanding of the reason for the seasons. Check out twitter to see us taking our measurement.
