We learned how to evaluate our and others' shelter sites.

We went into Whispering Woods and identified the pros and cons of various sites.
What do you need to learn next?
We will begin to consider shelter sites on Nose Hill in the future.

What did you learn today?
We learned that "All squares are rectangles, but all rectangles are not squares". 
How did you show what you learned?
We looked at the specific attributes of squares and rectangles to see how they contrasted.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to be very specific about the attributes that make up the other 5 quadrilaterals.

In 1925, an sickness thraetened the children of Nome alaska. The only medicyne that could save them wuz all most 1,000 miles away. Travel by air wasnt posible, so a relay team of dog sleds were asembled to carry the medicine. For the final leg of this life-saveing trip, a husky named balto lead Gunnar Kaassen and a team of dogs threw bitter wind and cold. On February 2, Kaassen return to nome with the medecine.

We learned how to plan for a 3 day/night trip into the wilderness, and selected a spot to make a shelter in Whispering Woods.

We used our visual journals to plan and then map out where our shelter may go.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to evaluate our shelter location.

carter G woodson, ph.D., was a taecher who studyed and wrote about African american history. When he saw that the acomplishments of black Americans where often left out of history books, he started a special week to help educate people In 1976, the week in february became a month long celabration, known today as African American History Month. In school, have you learned how African american’s such as Harriet tubman Martin Luther King, Jr., and Rosa parks changed our werld.

We attempted to make a rectangle using all twelve of our pentomino pieces.

No one in Room 6 or 7 was able to solve this puzzle - however, many were close...
What do you need to learn next?
We will continue to try and solve the puzzle - there are 2339 possible combinations.
