We discovered a sacred spot on/at Nose Hill Park's peak.

We went up to the peak, and we saw it in the distance (a group of rocks in a circular shape) - some of us sketched the site, and asked questions about it.

We need to learn about what that sacred site was, who placed the rocks there, why it was there, etc.

1 - We are headed to Nose Hill at 9 am tomorrow. Thank you to all the volunteers for making this possible. 
We have spoken to the students about proper dress attire for tomorrow morning - they need to layer warm clothes, wear a toque, mitts or gloves. There will be some snow and ice on some of the trails so students need to wear proper boots or shoes with good grips. 
The hike will take us to the top of Nose Hill. Students need to be prepared with a water bottle and extra snacks. 
Nose Hill is the 6th largest urban park in Canada (Fish Creek is the 5th largest urban park in Canada). We will hike to the top of Nose Hill. At this point we will be able to see a panoramic view of Calgary.

What did you learn today?
We learned how snakes 'smell' the air with their tongues.  We also learned how quickly they move.
How did you show what you learned?
We observed a garter snake at Nose Hill Park!!
What do you need to learn next?
17/28 of Room 6 students think that all the leaves will fall off all the trees in Whispering Woods by next Friday.  We shall see/observe!

We learned about the Group of Seven - Our Canadian landscape artists.
How did you show what you learned?
We viewed several paintings by them from many of the regions of Canada.
What do you need to learn next?
We will be using some of their 'sketching' techniques (mathematical) tomorrow during F.A.F.

We learned to paint a forest scene (Whispering Woods) using water colours and a sponge.

We watched an instructional video then went outside to sketch our scene. We then came back indoors and applied the water colours.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to fill in the foreground of our paintings.
