January 15th, 2019.

Agenda:
 1. Spelling exercises and Edit Phunn! - due Thursday. 
2. Sign and return: 'Government Services - 3 levels' (Social Studies).

3. Branton Open House - February 7th @ 7:00pm

4. Math booklet - p.2 (back of p. 1) - gr. 6s only.  
5. We ARE going on a field trip to City Hall and the new Central Public Library on Wednesday, January 23rd.   There is no cost for this field trip (thank you to our School Council for paying for our bussing!!).   If you are able to volunteer for this trip, please email me directly - thanks!
6. Fun Lunch is this Thursday.

We learned how to graph coordinate pairs. 
How did you show what you learned?
We did an IMJ entry for it in Quadrant #1 (+,+).
What do you need to learn next?
We need to apply this knowledge to our work on patterns.

We ARE going on a field trip to City Hall and the new Central Public Library on Wednesday, January 23rd.  Please fill out the forms coming home today and return them no later than Tuesday, January 15th.  There is no cost for this field trip (thank you to our School Council for paying for our bussing!!).   If you are able to volunteer for this trip, please email me directly - thanks!

A Sunny and Warmish FAF!!

You will want a grown up's help to know which direction to look and to make sure you are up on time :-)
2. Sign and return: 'Exploring Issues from Different Points of View' (Social Studies).

3. Branton presentation - January 14th at school for the Gr. 6s only (parents and students may visit Branton during their Open House - February 7th).

We went outside for FAF and drew 'Our Tree' with charcoal.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to appreciate that art created outdoors is much different than art created indoors.

We learned about about how our education system prepares us for living in a democracy.

We had a wide-ranging classroom discussion about it.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to appreciate how lucky we are to have such a robust public school system in Canada.

We learned about variables in expressions in math. 
How did you show what you learned?
We determined rules for patterns that had expressions like, x + 1 = y.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to understand that there are rules for patterns (horizontally) and patterns (growth and decreasing - vertically) that use 't' tables.

We looked up their jobs in our text book to answer questions about School Boards.
What do you need to learn next?
We need to begin to look into the provincial government in the next few weeks.
